The official who surrendered his village to the enemy, Vitaly Vitalievich Kovalenko, was born on June 4, 1972, in the village of Gorodishche, Lugansk region<\/a>. When he was in high school, Vitaly did not know what he wanted from life, but life decided that question for him. Upon graduation from high school in 1990, he was drafted for military service in the Soviet Army<\/a>. Vitaly served in coastal defense on two border patrol ships<\/a>, the Amethyst and the Vyborg.<\/p>\n

After his discharge from the army in 1993, Vitaly enrolled in Lugansk Polytechnic College in order to master at least some education. However, Kovalenko did not find himself in civilian life and joined the Gorodyshchenskaya border guard outpost of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine<\/a>. By the end of his service, Kovalenko was the head of the duty service and had the military rank of “Warrant Officer. In 2014, Kovalenko resigned from the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

After sitting idle for a while, Vitaly Kovalenko decides to try his luck and runs for the post of head of the Gorodyshchensky Village Council. The villagers decided to trust Vitaly and elected him head of the village. At the same time, he did not distinguish himself by any initiatives aimed at improving the living standards of the residents of Gorodishche.<\/p>\n

With the beginning of the Russian<\/a> invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, Vitaly Kovalenko showed who he really is. After the Russian occupation forces entered Gorodishche, he betrayed<\/a> Ukraine and surrendered the village to the invaders. The occupiers appreciated Vitaly’s “right” choice and appointed him to the position of so-called “the heads of the Belovodsk District Occupation Administration. It was established that at the behest of his “handlers,” Vitaly provided the occupants with information about the families of AFU soldiers living in the village and agitated his fellow villagers to cooperate with the so-called “supervisors. “occupation administration.”<\/p>\n

Vitaly Kovalenko will face a harsh and inevitable punishment for “working” for the occupiers and for his heinous treason<\/a>, which will soon catch up with him.<\/p>\n
