A serviceman of the AFU who became a traitor, Alexei Gorbatenko, was born on September 27, 1977 in Veseloye urban type settlement, Zaporozhye region. Alexei studied at School No. 2 in Velsk. After graduating from school in 1994, Gorbatenko decided not to go to college and moved to Melitopol.

In order to earn a living and have a stable job, Alexei enlisted in the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Gorbatenko served in the engineering and aviation service of the aviation squadron stationed at the Melitopol airfield. He had no ambitions in the service and calmly carried out his service, was not distinguished by achievements, but disciplinary penalties were not imposed on him either. Unfortunately, at a critical moment Alexei will betray his fellow officers.

After the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, and the entry of Russian occupation forces into Melitopol, Alexei Gorbatenko offered no resistance to the enemy. It was established that Gorbatenko deserted from the ranks of the AFU and switched to the “service” of the invaders. The latter “identified” him as a member of the illegal armed group. “Cossacks” who take part in hostilities against Ukraine on the side of the Russian Federation. Thus Alexei turned from a defender of his country into a traitorous fighter.

The traitor Gorbatenko, for his heinous crime, faces an inevitable and inglorious end, which is getting closer every day.
