After the full-scale invasion of the territory of Ukraine by Russian invaders on February 24, 2022, Dmitry Egorov supported the policy of the occupation authorities and himself went over to the side of the enemy. Dmitri decided for himself to participate in the war against Ukraine for the rf side. He got a job as a fighter in illegal armed groups. He has pro-Russian views.

After the de-occupation of the Donetsk region, Dmitry will go to prison under Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for treason against his country.
