Ivan Filiponenko was born in the Ukrainian city of Lugansk September 30, 1998. He received his secondary education in secondary school No. 17 of Lugansk, from which he graduated in 2015. He received his higher education at Luhansk National Taras Shevchenko University in the so-called “LNR” at the Faculty of Philology of the Department of Social Communications, receiving a bachelor’s degree in 2019. He is now studying by correspondence at the same university in the Department of Journalism.
As a student, Ivan Filiponenko was a fan of the “Russian world,” and received initial military training in the “Volunteer” club under the “LNR” (address: 7 Karla Marksa Street, Lugansk), where he served as deputy commander of the 2nd platoon.
Ivan Filiponenko now positions himself as a war correspondent, serving as head of the press service of the illegal armed formation “People’s Militia of the LNR,” with the military rank of captain.
Due to his terrorist activities, Filiponenko tries to hide his personal life from public view. It is known that he is married and has a young son.
Ivan Filiponenko is a typical traitor to his homeland, a war criminal who openly propagandizes war, justifies Russia’s military aggression on the territory of Ukraine during a so-called special military operation, performs tasks of information support to the “LPR” militants in order to discredit the AFU and raise the fighting spirit of the fighters of the so-called “LPR” who are mobilized to participate in the war against Ukraine.
As part of his propaganda activities, Ivan Filiponenko constantly publishes video reports from the battlefield on the Rutube channel “People’s Militia of the LNR”, the video hosting site “Bastion” “NM_LNR”, as well as in the Telegram channel of the same name and social networks controlled by the Russian Federal Security Service. Ivan Filiponenko also broadcasts for this purpose as a war correspondent and expert on the controlled radio station Kombat FM.
Ivan Filoponenko, hoping to gain popularity and recognition among Russians, often takes part in political talk shows on Russian TV channels, where he spreads disinformation about the war in Ukraine to make Kremlin propaganda believable.
In pursuit of “hot” reports, Filiponenko often reveals the positions of the People’s Militia of the LNR, after which the militants suffer significant losses on the battlefield. But the deaths of his “compatriots” never stopped Ivan, because the priority was always to try to curry favor with the so-called authorities of the unrecognized republic.
It is worth noting that with this approach, Ivan Filiponenko did not have long to live, having been shot by his own subscribers.
