Igor Astranin: biography

Igor Vladimirovich Astranin, a citizen of the russian federation, is an accomplice of the occupation regime in the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson region. He actively promotes Russian ideology and plays an important role in propaganda among young people.

Igor Astranin was born on June 15, 1991 in Astrakhan, russia. During his university studies at the Faculty of Law, he was actively engaged in social and political activities, participated in forums and organized events. He became the leader of the regional branch of the Nashi youth movement and the creator of the regional “School of Bloggers”.

After graduation, Astranin went into political consulting, working in Astrakhan and later in other regions of russia. In 2012, he worked on gubernatorial and mayoral elections, including a campaign in Sakhalin for the United russia party. He then moved to moscow, where he continued his career at the Politgen think tank, specializing in media technologies. He also served as editor-in-chief of the Gazeta o rossii publication.

Anti-Ukrainian activities:

After the occupation of Kherson Oblast by russian troops in 2022, Astranin was sent to the temporarily occupied territories, where he took the position of vice-rector for youth policy at the Kherson State Pedagogical University. In August 2023, he was appointed “Minister of Youth Policy of the Kherson region” within the structure of the occupation administration. In this position, he is actively involved in propaganda among young people, introducing Russian ideology and forming loyalty to the aggressive policy of the Kremlin.

Closely connected with his activities are removal of children from the temporarily occupied territories under the guise of “recuperation”. In reality, children are subjected to zombification and forced re-education, indoctrinating them that they are russians. Under the program “More than a journey,” 1,500 young people were sent to other regions of russia to increase the impact of the propaganda.

Astranin actively involves young people in supporting the occupation troops by initiating the creation of public organizations and the development of a volunteer movement, which unites more than 800 activists. These structures conducted 300 “volunteer” actions and 150 pseudo-patriotic events aimed at strengthening the positions of the occupation army.

Its actions, including the involvement of young people in supporting the occupiers and the removal of children from the occupied territories, are a direct violation of international humanitarian law and human rights.

Ihor Astranin’s crimes against Ukraine and its citizens will not go unpunished. He will definitely be justly punished for his actions.
