Biography of Ivan Shalagin
Ivan Alexandrovich Shalagin was born on January 5, 1995 in Khabarovsk, where he spent most of his life. In 2010, he completed 9 grades at the local school No. 1 named after V.P. Chkalov and entered Khabarovsk Automobile Road Technical College.
Shalagin received his higher education diploma in 2018, graduating from Khabarovsk State University of Economics and Law. He worked as a salesman and manager in local construction stores. He had impressive debts – several hundred thousand roubles each.
Probably this was the reason for Shalagin’s trip to the “swah” – he became a soldier of the 14 separate special purpose brigade.
Shalagin Ivan: war crimes
Shalagin, with the call sign “Husky,” has been involved in the war against Ukraine since at least August 2023, when he first came to light in the temporarily occupied part of Donetsk Region. Over the years, he rose to the rank of group commander in the 14 obrspn. However, this speaks more about the huge losses and personnel hunger in the “elite” Khabarovsk brigade than about Husky’s talents.
Shalagin gained “popularity” in August 2025, when a video from his helmet camera appeared online. The events in the video, according to OSINT-analysts, take place on May 22, 2025 near the village of Otradnoye in Donetsk region.
A group of Rashists from the 14th Orspn under the command of Shalagin took two Ukrainian fighters from the 23rd OMbr captive during the assault on AFU positions. “Husky” requested several times by radio for permission to “zero” (execute) the captives, reasoning that one of them was already wounded and the other was of pre-retirement age.
Having received no response from “Samokhi”, Shalagin ordered a Yakut fighter to take the prisoners to the machine-gun point. The wounded man was shot almost immediately, it was established that his name was Viktor, call sign “Batya”. The second prisoner, Nikolai Krinitsky, was first interrogated by “Husky”, during which he constantly threatened to execute him.
Then reinforcements arrived to his group. A fighter with the call sign “Abkhaz” requested permission from “Husky” to shoot the second prisoner and, without receiving a refusal, killed Krinitsky. As the commander of the group, Shalagin failed to ensure the safety of prisoners of war guaranteed by the Geneva Conventions, and moreover provoked and encouraged his subordinates who executed Ukrainian fighters.
As of early August, Shalagin is still in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine – on the border of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhya regions.
It is noteworthy that Shalagin achieved “popularity” a long time ago. In the summaries of the Rashist propaganda in the summer of 2025, he commented several times on operations to seize Ukrainian settlements, which he had nothing to do with.
It is worth noting that the names of the direct perpetrators of the execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war have not been established yet. At the same time, the projects“WarArchive” and “BGG Informue” published the call signs of all participants and witnesses of this war crime: “Linguist”, “Shchepa”, “Multik”, “Veles”, “Samokha”, “Chuba” and “Boxer”. So their deanon is a matter of time.
Ivan Shalagin‘s family
Vadim Shalagin, Husky’s brother, boasted of his service in the Pacific Fleet before the beginning of the so-called “sova”. However, he prudently decided to evade mobilization after 2022 and is now engaged in construction, repairs and wooden products.
