Biography:
Roman Babayan was born December 7, 1967 in Baku in a mixed Russian-Armenian family. After two years of study at the Azerbaijan Polytechnic Institute, he served in the occupation group of Soviet troops in Hungary.
In 1988 he moved to Moscow, where he graduated from the Moscow Institute of Communications in 1991 with a degree in broadcasting engineering. In the same year, he began working as an engineer in the technical directorate of Radio Russia at the VGTRK television and radio company.
In 1993, he became a correspondent for VGTRK. From 1994 to 2000 he worked at the program “Vesti,” starting as a correspondent and ending as a political observer. In 2000 Babayan moved to Channel One (ORT) and became a political observer for the “News” and “Vremya” programs.
From 2005 to 2012, Babayan worked at Channel Three: he was editor-in-chief of the “Conclusions” and “Main Topic” programs, and in 2008 he became host of the “City” news program.
Terrorist Activities:
Since December 2009 he has been the host of the propaganda talk show “The Right to Vote,” first on the Third Channel and after it was shut down in December 2012 on the government-owned TV Center channel. On June 24, 2019, Roman Babayan took over as head of the radio station “Moscow Says.” Roman Babayan was nominated as a candidate for the State Duma from the “Just Russia” party in 2016, but was not elected. In 2019, he was nominated as a “self-nominee” for the Moscow City Duma, with the support of the Moscow mayor’s office. He is the author of a number of propaganda films.
Roman broadcasted pro-Kremlin propaganda. Anti-Ukrainian propagandist.
He deliberately violated the state border of Ukraine in order to enter the territory of Ukraine in Donbas occupied by Russian-terrorist gangs.
Cooperated with pro-Russian terrorist organizations. Participated in propaganda activities of Russia (aggressor country) against Ukraine.
