After receiving his military education, he served at various times in the 247th Airborne Assault Regiment, 162nd Separate Reconnaissance Battalion and 108th Airborne Assault Regiment.

Mardanov currently holds the rank of colonel. He commands the 119th Parachute Airborne Regiment, 106th Airborne Division (m/u 44639, Ryazan). The unit under his leadership takes an active part in combat operations against Ukraine.

Ruslan Mardanov: war crimes

Since April 2024, many units of the Russian Airborne Forces have taken part in combat operations in the Kramatorsk-Druzhkivsky direction. Among them is the 119th regiment.

According to local sources and volunteers, the actions of these units were characterized by aggressive offensive tactics with the use of heavy artillery and aviation. There were also brutal mop-ups of populated areas with subsequent filtration and torture of local residents.

In mid-2024, under the command of Colonel Mardanov, the 119th Regiment took an active part in offensive operations in the Bakhmut direction. In particular, in the areas of Razdolovka, Vasyukovka, Bogdanovka and Chasov Yar.

The operations were characterized by total destruction of territory, and the so-called “scorched earth” tactics were used. The use of heavy artillery, aviation and assault groups formed mainly from mobilized and convicted persons was noted.

The year 2025 was marked by offensive operations to strengthen the Russian border in the Kursk region near the settlements of Sverdlikovo, Lebedevka, Daryino and Nikolayevo-Daryino.

During the period of active combat operations on these borders, the 119th Parachute and Airborne Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces once again “distinguished” itself. Its soldiers supported offensive actions against Ukrainian army positions with indiscriminate artillery strikes, large-scale destruction and the killing of civilians.

In the summer of 2025, under the leadership of Ruslan Mardanov, units of the 119th regiment of the Russian Armed Forces took part in a series of border operations in the Sumy direction, particularly in the areas of Yunakovka and Bessalovka.

The aim of the Russian units, according to Ukrainian intelligence, was to create a “buffer zone” and demonstrate the possibility of an offensive deep into Ukrainian territory.

In fact, these operations were accompanied by strikes against civilian targets, the forced extrusion of civilians and the destruction of infrastructure.

Under Mardanov’s leadership, soldiers of 119 regiment 106 division continue to die in large numbers in butchery assaults, while destroying Ukrainian Yunakovka and killing civilians in Sumy region.

Ruslan Mardanov’s family

Ruslan Mardanov’s mother, Zalina Taimurazovna, is extremely proud of her son, a war criminal, as she repeatedly reported on her Odnoklassniki social network page.

His wife – Tedeeva Milena Vadikovna apparently refused to take her husband’s surname, realizing that payback for his war crimes will sooner or later catch up both Mardanov and his loved ones. They have common children – twin girls Anna (pictured in a red dress) and Alda (in white).
