Valery Nikolayevich Solodchuk was born on March 24, 1971 in the city of Astrakhan.

After studying at the Leningrad Suvorov Military School, he entered the Ryazan Airborne Command School, from which he graduated in 1992.He served from platoon commander to regimental chief of staff.
