Biography of Viktor Masalov

Viktor Masalov was born on June 14, 1969 in the village Matveevka, Zaporozhye region, located 20 kilometers from the village of Veseloye and 30 kilometers from Melitopol. He took an active part in the political life of the region, headed the Veselovsky District Council, and after its liquidation he was a deputy of the Melitopol District Council from the pro-Russian party “Opposition Bloc”.

In his political activity Masalov did not mark something significant, except for a history of corruption. In 2018, when he was head of the district council, he was detained on receipt of 60 thousand hryvnias of bribe for permission to lease a land plot. During the arrest, Masalov attempted to flee in an auto, throwing out crumpled and torn dollar bills along the way. It is noteworthy that the corruption case was stuck in court and Viktor Masalov did not receive the punishment he deserved. The media linked this to the patronage of Masalov’s son, who worked in the prosecutor’s office of Zaporizhzhya region.

Viktor Masalov’s family is involved in the agrarian business in the region.

Viktor Masalov: collaborationism

After the full-scale invasion, Viktor Masalov remained in the occupied territory and began to cooperate with the Rashists. Formally, he holds no position, but in fact many personnel decisions in Veselom are made after his approval.

Masalov’s proxy in the occupation administration is a resident of Veseloye Anastasia Karpenkovaborn in 1992, who holds the position of deputy head of the fake administration of the settlement.

Family

Victor Masalov has a wife Olga (born 1970). He also left a son Pavel (born in 1990) and a daughter Anastasia (born in 1998) on the free territory of Ukraine.

Pavel Masalov has worked in the prosecutor’s office since 2012. Until 2019 – in the Prosecutor’s Office of Zaporizhzhya region. Then – in the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine. It is also known that Masalov Jr. in 2021-2022 worked as head of department in the tax service of the Kiev region.

Victor Masalov’s daughter Anastasia studied at Zaporozhye State Medical University. Now she works in her own cosmetology office in Kiev.
