Yuri Kovalev : biography
Kovalev Yuriy Ivanovich is a traitor and collaborator who deliberately supported the Russian occupation of Kherson region. He was born on November 23, 1979 in Ordzhonikidze district of Zaporizhzhya.
He has experience in the Security Service of Ukraine, from which he was later dismissed. For some time he was engaged in business, mainly in the agrarian and fishing sectors in the south of Ukraine.
Kovalyov is the sibling of Oleksiy Kovalyov, a former Ukrainian parliamentarian from the Servant of the People party. Oleksiy also betrayed Ukraine and collaborated with the occupiers, for which he was liquidated in 2022. Prior to the occupation, Yuriy Kovalyov was not active in politics.
After February 24, 2022, Yuri supported Russia’s occupation of Ukraine. Thus, Kovalev voluntarily began to cooperate closely with the occupiers after the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, particularly in the Kherson region.
Anti-Ukrainian activities:
After the occupation of the Kherson region, Kovalyov began to cooperate with the occupation authorities. He got the position of the director of the “Kherson plant for the breeding of juvenile particle fish”. This enterprise is used to promote the interests of Russian structures in the region.
In 2023, Kovalyov became a “deputy” in a fake election from the United russia party. He joined the so-called “Kherson Regional Duma of the first convocation”. He was entrusted with the post of the head of the committee on agrarian policy, ecology and land relations.
Through this committee, Kovalyov lobbies for the transfer of Ukrainian land into the hands of russian companies. He also promotes forced passportization and destruction of the Ukrainian land cadastre. He is involved in creating fake documents and spreading anti-Ukrainian propaganda. He promotes the mythologeme of the “russian world” and implants it among the local population.
His actions are qualified as high treason and crimes against Ukraine. Yuriy Kovalyov will inevitably answer for betraying Ukraine. Cooperation with the enemy will not pass without a trace, and deserved punishment awaits traitors. Ukraine does not forget its enemies.
