Journalist Dmitry Steshin was born September 12, 1972 in St. Petersburg (Leningrad), where he studied at secondary school № 247.

Dmitry Steshin received his higher education at the Northwestern Academy of Public Service (St. Petersburg), from which he graduated in 1993.

After graduating from the academy, Dmitry Steshin got a job at the newspaper Five Corners. Then he was appointed editor of Kaleidoscope magazine, where he had been published since 1994.

In 2001, he was appointed editor-in-chief of the newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda in St. Petersburg, where he worked until 2003. In 2004, he was invited to work at the central editorial office of Komsomolka in Moscow, where he became friends with journalist Alexander Kots. Since then they have been working together and Dmitry Steshin has become responsible for covering military events in which the Russian Federation was directly involved.

Dmitry Steshin is married to Julia Petrovna Alekhina (Steshina), a Moscow-born journalist whom he met while working for Komsomolskaya Pravda. Three children from the marriage.

It is worth noting that the journalist worked with the activist Nikita Tikhonov, who had ultra-right views, was a member of the group BORN (“Combat Organization of Russian Nationalists”) and was convicted of murder. The leader of the previously mentioned organization, Ilya Goryachev, who is also the godfather of Dmitry Steshin’s son, was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2015.
