The rescuer who became a traitor – Alexander Viktorovich Velikotsky, was born on June 4, 1978 in Starobelsk, Lugansk region. Alexander studied at City School No. 4. Since childhood Velikotsky wanted to be useful to society, and after graduating from high school in 1993 he chose the profession of lifeguard.
After graduation from a specialized college of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, Alexander is employed as a member of the 27th Fire and Rescue Unit of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Lugansk region, which was stationed in Bilokurakino. Velikotsky had a rapid career growth – from an ordinary employee he rose to the position of unit commander. Alexander lived happily ever after – a great career, a quiet city, everything was good.
However, everything changed after the Russian invasion of Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. When Russian occupation forces entered Bilokurakino and Starobelsk, they began recruiting former employees of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry and State Emergency Service. Alexander Velikotsky received a similar offer, but instead of resisting the invaders, or at least refusing, he decided to betray Ukraine and go over to the side of the occupiers. The latter, as a reward for this, “promoted” Alexander – he is now the so-called “A. “head of the Belokuraki department of the LNR Ministry of Emergency Situations. As the saying goes, “The kid has risen,” there’s no telling.
But, Alexander Velikotsky should remember that for betraying his country and people he will suffer a severe but fair punishment.
