Biography: After Putin announced the mobilization on September 21, 2022, Smerdov promised a mobilized St. Petersburger to “knock out his teeth”, “hit him over the head with a butt” and “put him in a hole” for refusing to participate in the pact.
Lieutenant Colonel Anatoly Smerdov is deputy commander of the 138th separate Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade (village of Kamenka, Vyborg District, Leningrad Region). He became “famous” in the media after he threatened conscripted soldier to “knock out his teeth”, “hit him over the head with a buttstock” and “put him in a pit” for refusing to participate in the “special military operation”. Apparently this is why he was awarded the Order of Courage.
