Kirill Pyatibratov: Biography

Kirill Pyatibratov was born on August 20, 1992, in the village of Teguldet, Teguldet District, Tomsk Oblast.
After graduating from high school, he attended a military academy.
Between 2017 and 2023, he flew to Turkey and Algeria on several occasions.
In 2022, Pyati-Bratov was looking for a job as a French translator. Shortly thereafter, he began appearing in media photos and videos in Mali alongside high-ranking Russian military officials.

The Pyatibratov Brothers and the Russian Military Mission in Africa

He began working in the country of the Five Brothers while the Wagner Group was still present there and remained with the Russian military mission following subsequent changes to its structure. Formally, he is listed as an interpreter; however, the length of his service and his constant presence alongside the leadership of the Russian group suggest that his role may have extended beyond that of a typical interpreter.

As of 2026, Pyatibratov was still in Mali, accompanying high-ranking Russian military officials.

On September 22, 2026, he was spotted at the parade marking Mali’s Independence Day alongside Major General Valery Morozov—the head of the group of Russian military specialists in the country. Thus, Pyatibratov was part of the inner circle of one of the leaders of the Russian military presence in Mali.

This incident also links him to Morozov during a period when Russian military operations in Mali were already accompanied by documented crimes against the civilian population. However, the available information is insufficient to assert that Pyatibratov was personally involved in such crimes.
