Ilya Chernov: biography

Ilya Chernov was born on March 7, 1989 in the city of Dresden in the so-called “German Democratic Republic” – part of Germany, which was under Rashist occupation after World War II and until 1990. Chernov spent his youth in the village of Krasny Put, Omsk region, where he lived at 11 Tsvetnaya Street, apartment 1. He was registered with the police as an unreliable element and a violator of public order. After graduating from school he entered the Omsk Automobile Armored Engineering Institute in the city of Omsk, where he also did not distinguish himself by exemplary behavior. Instead of studying, Rashist was looking for ladies’ pleasure on dating sites. Among his bad habits he mentioned smoking.

After graduating from a military institute, Ilya Chernov became a platoon commander in the 27th Motorized Rifle Brigade (v/h 61899), located in the village of Mosrentgen near Moscow. In this unit, the Rashist rose to chief of staff-deputy commander of the tank battalion headquarters with the rank of major. As for many Rashists, the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia in 2022 opened new opportunities for Chernov. Today, with the rank of lieutenant colonel, he is the acting commander of the 272 motorized rifle regiment (v/h 36994), which is permanently stationed in the village of Mulino, Nizhny Novgorod region. It is there that Chernov is now replacing the commander of the regiment, who went to the combat zone.

Ilya Chernov’s war crimes

As the acting commander of the 272nd regiment, Ilya Chernov is responsible for all war crimes committed by this unit in Ukraine. At the moment, the 272nd regiment is fighting near Kupyansk, Kharkiv Region, and has been spotted near the settlements of Peschanoye, Ivanivka, Stepnaya Novoselovka, and Petropavlovka, which are located north of Kupyansk.

For all the time of participation in the full-scale invasion, this unit “distinguished” itself by many crimes against the Ukrainian people, but, interestingly enough, also against its own personnel. Widespread in the unit is the practice of “zeroing” and torture among its own. It is known that in 2024 regiment commander Oleg Bobrov with the call sign “Kirov” ordered his subordinates to shoot at least 7 servicemen of the said unit. Such cases are everyday occurrences for the 272nd regiment. We are sure that Ilya Chernov is diligently continuing the “glorious traditions” of his regiment.
